Rheumatologists treat arthritis, certain autoimmune diseases, musculoskeletal pain disorders and osteoporosis. There are more than 100 types of these diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, gout, lups, back pain, osteoporosis, fibromyalgia and tendonitis. Arthritis is an inflammation of the joints, while rheumatoid arthritis is a common form of arthritis that causes inflammation in the lining of the joints and/or other internal organs.

Bone Density Measurement

There are many reasons to have your bone density measured, including to help diagnose and manage osteoporosis and assess future risks of fractures. Osteoporosis is a disease that causes bones to lose mass and become brittle. Measurement takes from five to 20 minutes, and it is non-invasive, safe and painless. In most cases, exposures are less than a chest x-ray. It does not require an injection as with regular bone scans. Patients may wear comfortable close and our certified technicians provide state-of-the-art measurements. Our procedure is extremely accurate, which is invaluable for follow-up comparison measurements.

Fibromyalgia Care Center

Fibromyalgia is a syndrome that causes pain the muscles and tissues that connect bones, ligaments and tendons. One of the few of its kind in our area, Medical Consultants' Fibromyalgia Center is run by certified nurse practioner Pam Wright, ANP, and one of our board-certified rheumatologists. Pam is an expert in musculoskeletal pain and fibromyalgia. We offer comprehensive evaluation, massage therapy, support groups and the latest in innovative care.

Medical Consultants participates in many arthritis clinical research trials, testing the latest drug therapies with qualified patients. Please contact our Research Coordinator for more information.

We currently have five board-certified gastroenterologists, as well a certified nurse practitioner, on staff in facility at 800 S. Tillotson Ave.
