Medical Consultants’ Registered Dietitian, Amy E. Amyx, R.D., C.D., is available for consultation five days a week to provide individual guidance on food selection and meal planning. Nutrition counseling is offered for issues such as Diabetes, Cholesterol Management, Kidney disease, Congestive Heart Failure, Heart Disease, Crohn’s Disease, Food Allergies, and weight loss or gain.
Nutrition plays a big role in our daily lives. We have to decide what to eat, what to feed our families, and what to buy at the grocery store. Television, newspapers, magazines, and radio offer an abundance of information about “good” nutrition. It is hard to know what to believe and which “diet” is the best.
If you have a medical condition, such as diabetes or heart disease, your decision is more difficult. You need to be sure that a “diet” won’t cause more problems for you down the road.
The most reliable source for diet and nutrition information is a registered dietitian. Nutrition therapy, provided by a registered dietitian can improve overall health, quality of life, treat and manage diseases, reduce complications of disease, and reduce or eliminate the need for prescription drugs.
