Medical Consultants Cardiology Clinical Research

Cardiology Clinical Trials

The cardiologists at Medical Consultants are active in conducting cardiology research. The research team participates in clinical trials to offer our patients access to cutting edge drugs and devices in development. The team knows that their involvement in clinical research will contribute to understanding of illness and possibly help patients live better and longer.

Our research team is made up of board certified cardiologists who have over 18 years of experience in participating in clinical research. Our clinical research coordinators are registered nurses with cardiology backgrounds and are dedicated to cardiology clinical research. Cardiology research offers participation in the treatment of congestive heart failure, acute coronary syndromes, hyperlipidemia and cardiac arrhythmias.

Our research investigators participate in clinical trials that enroll patients in our private practice cardiology clinic at Medical Consultants and who are hospitalized at Ball Memorial Hospital. All clinical trials conducted at Medical Consultants are performed under required FDA safety and ethical guidelines and are reviewed and approved by a Institutional Review Board.

Benefits of Participating in a Cardiology Clinical Trial

Patients who participate in clinical trials help to answer questions about new drug or device treatments. Questions such as safety, tolerability and effectivness of the treatment are being studied. Patients enrolled in a clinical trial receive the highest quality of care. The research physician and coordinator will monitor them closely during the study and in the follow-up after active treatment is complete. Patients also contribute to the future of medical research and participate in decision making in their health care treatment.
